Brink is a new Intellectual Property from developers Splash Damage, creators of Doom 3 and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. It is an FPS set sometime in a post-apocalyptic future after The Earth's destruction and mass flooding, due to global warming. It is the first IP to come from the devs after their work on past franchises.
In Brink you play as one of two 'factions'; Security and Resistance, which are locked in a civil war after The Ark; a floating, sustainable city, which was designed for 5,000 people became over-crowded.
The game features the SMART (Smooth Movement Across Random Terrain) engine, similar to what we see in Mirror's Edge. You play as one of the two factions in tactical team-based games. Splash Damage have attempted to create an online mode where team-work is rewarded equally or more heavily than being a lone ranger and simply killing the enemy.
The game will feature a detailed character customization mode, allowing you to kit up your character for online play. Here the attire won't add much variation to the gaming style, but the character build will, with the option of being big, medium or small, which will affect health, weapons and acrobatic movement.
